Well looking at the switches the pictures on them are all cut throught the covering paint, the Def switch is a different colour to the D2 switches, but teh dummy will fit when a hole is drilled.
Sometime tomorrow I will cut a light pattern in the button cover using some modelling tools.
Earth is easy.
Get dash lights from the HDC button next to it.
But which wire do I use for a feed from the headlamp wiring. Do I go into the stalk?
I hope to get the wiring done so as soon as elbow recovers I can fit the light bar.
Inside the vehicle, main beam can be picked-up from -
C0041-5 - Source of Main Beam trigger - I can supply a 'plug-in' pickup for this (see below) -
C0585-3 and
C0588-4 - Alternative source of Main Beam trigger -
C0585-3 is the other end of the cable from
C0041-5 - there's no real advantage in picking-up the trigger here.
C0588-4 is an unused terminal (on UK/European spec.vehicles) on the main beam circuit (before it's split into left & right circuits), which is used as a connection to the Daytime Running Lights circuit on Canadian NAS vehicles.
C0588-4 is quite fiddly to get at (I've got my Main Beam trigger connected here, but I did have the under-dash fuse box out of the car at the time).
It requires a Sumitomo 090 female terminal to plug into the connector (I can make-up a link lead from this connector to the switch).
To pickup the main beam from
C0041-5 - I make this plug-in lead -
Unplug the main lighting switch connector
C0041 (you don't need to remove the switch)
Release the terminal from cavity 5 (Blue/White trace wire) - lift the terminal retainer from above the terminal, from the front of the connector - a safety pin works well for this.
This is
C0041 with the terminal locking tab (in cavity 4) being pointed to -
Fit the terminal on the link harness into cavity 5 on
C0041
The Blue/White wire from
C0041-5 goes into the corresponding half of the 2-way connector on the other end of the short thick Blue wire.
You may find it easier to pull the Blue/White wire back below the light switch and connect it into the new connector below the steering column.
