Afternoon all

well, what did you think. From where I was sitting this seemed to be the least effective one they have ever done.

Who in there right mind would spend £5K on an 02 L322 (with the associated gearbox issues etc.).

Spend £3K on a paint job (was a nice colour tho')

Refurb those awful 22" wheels (must have been cheaper to get a nice set of original !8" or 19")

Spend nearly £1K on a post 06 front & rear facelift

Spend £300 on carbon fibre lookalike vinyl on the interior

And buy a recon compressor (is it true that you can't get a compressor seal kit for a L322)

and then try to sell it for £12K - he ended up making just over £500

was still funny tho'

Some folks are consumed with image. They see a 'new' looking Rangie that from a distance could pass as £60k worth of car & go for it despite the fact it's actually over 10 years old with associated mech issues.

I'd personally rather have a mint original 02 Vogue than one that has been messed about with.
 
Only fault i've had thrown up on my 02 p38 in first year of owning (20k miles) is EAS fault (once).
Apart from that everything works as it should...blown it now....oops!

Hi All, its my 1st post here so please be gentle, I am an Audi allroad owner :eek: (yes yes i know!!:)) and frequent the audi forums, i would like to inform you that there is a repair kit for these wabco compressors available see link:

Although advertised for other cars it is exactly the same wabco compressor which can be found on these cars:

I came up with the repair kit around 1 year ago to repair my allroad's compressor as it was weak and would not lift, I got various errors and so on, so i stripped the compressor, did a lot of research and being an engineer with a small machine shop in my garage at home, I thought i would knock up a new piston seal.

it has now came along way from that and i now manufacture kits in batches for this wabco compressor to give a good working solution to fellow DIYers to keep these cars running. i try to keep a constant supply available but it is not always possible juggling family and airsuspension demands!.

I know this may seem like a cheap sales pitch, so forgive me, but it is just meant to be for info to show there is a working solution out there, If i had seen the program i would have been shouting at the TV!!, a friend told me about it and said "is that not what your kit would do!"

anyway If any one has any questions please just ask i will try to help, Im off to the pub later so will only answer when sober...honest!! I will admit my experience is not with the Range rover but with tinkering with the audi allroad but i have fair knowledge of these compressor pumps now and I have sorted quite a few over the last year ;)

if the post it is removed by the forum mods I do appologise as it is not meant to be cheap advertising but to share knowledge to help us all save a few £'s if we can, as if like the alload I'm sure the range rover can eat your wallet when it wants to!!

cheers for the info, it's deffo worth sharing.
There are so many common parts used on diferent types and makes of motors that can be swapped around, so if it can save us money it's definately worth a plug!!

P.S. welcome to the (expensive!! LOL) land of the Range Rover:welcome2:

Thanks, for the welcomes, I think the audi dealer can beat the range rover on the price of a new pump, from the audi dealer £1000 for a new compressor!!! a lot of us use Arnott for air suspension parts airbladers and compressors, i assume it is well known on here too, again the compressor from arnott is the same wabco unit, it is actially very well made but like everything there has to be something that wears, in this case is is 99% the piston ring which wears on the top edge.

yes these wabco pumps are the same found on the cars list I previously attached however just to note you cannot swap a pump off an audi, jaguar, disco 2 straight on to the range rover as the mounting brackets can differ and the electrical connection too, you can of course swap these parts from your old pump over so its not impossible, but the main pump body is the same with the same internal parts.

hi all i watched this and apart from him not knowimg a v6 to a v8:confused::confused::confused::confused: ??????????? wich i thought was hilarious , it did have some good points to the programme . i paticularly like the result on the interior trims thought that was quite ingenious and cost efective ,never seen this before and the result was very effective :):). thought ed was very precise at his diagnosis and all faults were sorted !!!!!! wouldnt mind him as my mechanic ,,,, My question is just to see who was paying attention ?????? WHAT WAS THE DIAGNOSTIC KIT HE USED ????????????:scratching_chin::confused::confused: and had it had the replacement recall gearbox done ????????????????? ;);)but in my opinion the end result was excellent and the only fault i could see that it was one for the tractor boys:D:D:D as i would only want the v8 petrol ????????????? selfish i know but thats my preference ...oh and quickly needs a private no plate that would really finish the job !!!!!!!!!! :):):)
