I'm interested but can't confirm until after the coming weekend, Monday 22nd.

Yep, I can confirm it's in my diary :)

As for the routes... hmmm... I just have the grid refs and the section of map from the magazine - lol! I've scanned it for you this morning so just PM me your email address and I'll send it on so you can see.

Cheers

If you pm me the refs/scan you have Richard I can put the routes into Memory Map and get a good idea of what they're like, work a route out between them all maybe .. ;)

Will the lanes be ok for a novice?

Who knows but thats all part of the fun, at least if anyone gets stuck then there are others around to help :)

Richard I have sent you a PM about the refs but if you want to pass them to Paul that may be better so he can get a route together.

I can't come, sorry. Rather tell you sooner than later thobut ... ;)

Still happy to try and sort a route for you if you want to pm grid refs etc of lanes, but it takes time so send 'em quickly .. ;)

Sorry I've not got back to anyone until now but work has been manic!

I'll PM the refs to Paul and Bobbler now. Paul, if you could still work us out a route then that would be fantastic and you're a gent! I'll be sure to take pics and give you a writeup - real pity you can't make it :(

For everyone else the area we'll be going is near Ripon and I'll be coming from Wetherby. We can arrange a meeting point somewhere convenient for everyone once we know definites. I'm guessing we'll meet up around 10.00-10.30 if ok with others?

I'll start the "definites" list now so just say if you want adding.

1. Me
2. Bobbler

Cheers

Richard

P.S. Wriggler - I'm sure they'll be fine for a novice judging from the magazine article.

Got the email .. hard to make a route up from that as it's basically a triangle at each end of a long lane .. but a few years ago I was also laning up there, over the hill above Scar house reservoirs .. and could incorporate that for 'extras' ... Wish i were coming, they're some good lanes.

Youtube seems to be down or I'd post a video of Scar House .. ;)

North yorks website isn't much help wrt legalities, so I'm a tad reluctant to say a route is definitevely legal without me being in the party to take responsibility on the day! However .. as NY basically say check on OS maps then I reckon so long as no TRO notices are posted and you 'tread lightly' then there shouldn't be much of a problem!

I'll have a better look tonight and send you an email/pm later.

Well I've just spent the evening planning Sunday's routes - all ready now :) I used a combination of the magazine, Google maps (with sat view), and Memory Map (OS maps) including 3D fly through's with aerial photo's. The missus said I don't need to bother going now as I've done it all virtually :hysterically_laughi

There are 4 sets of lanes which adds up over 20 miles of actual laning and about 40 miles of driving between them (between 4 and 15 miles between sections) so should be a great day out. :D:D:D

And thanks for the reminder about the clocks changing!

Cheers

Richard
