Laning near Coventry

If I lived anywhere near Coventry I might .. but I don't .. so I won't ... ;)

Done a similar thing with my local council and have two extra, cleared, lanes to drive now!

The Warwickshire definitive map is held in Warwick http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/Web/corporate/pages.nsf/Links/89AA6D5717D31D8880256C6E00 Looks like a mission for someone.

Its in the library at shire Hall, you have to make an apointment to view it though, and its a pretty futile excersize....

The council hold an official 'line' that there are no more than I cant remember if it if four or fourteen miles of 'By-way' in the county....

Actually, It might be four miles between fourteen tracks, or something like that; whatever it is, it's pittiful, and almost a complete irrelevence.

Though I do keep meaning to go over with some marked Land-Rangers for a laugh.......

Warwickshires 'lost-lanes' are a well kept secret; local GLASS rep is well 'up' on what's what, think he's based out alcester way, and drives a PJ I think, so frequents Difflok rather than the LR forums, and he's of the old guard, and inordinately tight about his maps...... and I'm persona non grata with GLASS, I think..........

I am also interested in going green laning around cov, i have done a couple but think its much better going in a group!
is there anyone around here with experiance of them?
cheers
matt

Wow, bit of a thread revival there.

There is a few of us in the area that get out and about quite regular. Keep an eye out in the greenlane section for warwickshire lanes, solihull lanes, staffordshire etc etc.

We mostly go to wales now, as stated on this thread there isnt too much in the area and ur more likely to get a full days laning in wales.

Keep checking the greenlaning section and you should find some fairly local lanes.

Oh and :welcome2: to the forum.

The best advice i can offer is "do a search on before asking anything" Which you know how to do as youve found this thread.

Good luck and enjoy. :D
