Yeah the combo, so she can stay in the tent and I get the mattress in the back of the truck! ;)
Paul shouldnt go deleting missus' else there won't be anyone to distract his while he spends all the monies :D

I'll change it to *discovery in case ;)

No, can cope for 2 days with leisure battery and a bottle of gas for the cooker (bacon butties for breakfast and kettle for a coffee) and the fridge (mainly to keep the beer cold, but will have to squeeze in the milk and bacon too)!!:)

Give you fair warning...the food van does a mean mean full english......and theres a coffee machine for proper coffee too.:)

For those who didnt come last year, If you give your order to the food van he will make up a packed lunch and drink for when we go laning on the saturday...all made up fresh on the Saturday morning :)

The take - away lunch was a great idea, delicious as well. I seem to remember even the sausages were good, not always the case with food vans:D
 
just an idea and hope this doesn't come across as rude in any way

as i know the organisers work really hard to put this together

is there any possibility of an obstacle course to be set up plse

where it's non damaging and non scratchy

where the the older children can have a go at their first off road driving ,

could a particular section of a lane be used

seeing all the different terrains etc

where there is no winners or losers , doesnt turn into a competition, all about good fun

so that the ones who don't fancy the lanes due to the possibility of scratching the paintwork etc could do this course

could be a great photographic opportunity

once again i'm not trying to step on anyones toes

or does everyone think it's a bad idea

will go back in my corner
 
It could .. if we had a week to set it up beforehand, find a venue that won't mind 30, say, Landrovers driving round and creating, despite our best efforts and intentions, ruts and mud. There is no way I'd say any course worth driving round and being anything of a realistic challenge can be guaranteed non-damaging for any type of vehicle.

Frankly the logistics of it wouldn't do for such an informal weekend.

I had an idea for a 'jokey', Top Gear style thing last year, with a bucket of water on the bonnet type of thing to be run all day, but again, when I looked at setting a course out, the field we have has maybe two small bumps in it, which didn't trouble @*minty* and her Micra even ...

Not a feasible thing really, sorry ...

thks paul for the reply and fully understand

ref the different courses are u saying they are all really bad for scratching

would it be of any use if maybe i came on a thurs, went round one of the courses and cut back the bushes etc

or do i think that's not possible

failing that if i'm being to much of a pain can easily stay on the site on the sat
 
No. Basically there will always be some scratchy stuff, bush and twigs, but most lanes are not scratchy at all and very few have actual branches that can drag or gorse, but it changes so quickly that what's clear one day might not be clear the following week. Many actual green lane sections can be driven around by road if you think it's too scratchy and we'll try to make sure we know which ones are worth missing and will try to speak about them before we drive them, hence why a cb is a good idea.

I'd say come along on the run, try the lanes and get a feel for what you're happy with.

A big problem is that nothing bothers me, so it's hard to determine properly none scratchy. It was easier when I had the Disco as it's wider and any scratching could easily be heard ... ;)

sorry for repeating this, but no lanes have been checked yet so we cant really answer your question at the moment, Northampton area have TROs on some lanes until the end of March, so at the end of march we will start checking routes, not sure how many yet but I will still say even the easiest will be scratchy and I would not recommend you trying to cut them back I think it would be to much, lets wait and see what they are like closer to the date.

i feel really bad in asking , as i quite understand ref the condition

makes me sound a right stuck up git

no worries will wait and see

will be great if the bad bits can be bypassed

of course it doesn't bother me if they can easily be removed with T cut, it's the ones that take it down to the metal

got my pmr radio and now the usb lead , just got to try and work out how to program the thing

is a baofang 5

to say the least my laptop is on the old side
