Hi to all,I purchased a 90 1 year ago with a 2 inch lift and 3.9 auto engine it was in bad shape but kept the above items, I've been doing it up for a year I've added loads of stuff including range rover sport 20x9 wheels with all teraine tyres, takins it for its first road test was very worring as anything over 40 miles per hour it is like driving a jelly ie it's very difficult to keep in a straight line!
I would be very great full if some one could help with this problem. Do I need to harden suspension? One thing I don't want do do is get rid of the 2 inch lift.

Thank you
Ps I'm a builder not a mechanic so lamen terms would help!

check all your steering components for slack.

get some one to rock the steering wheel back n forth while you go down each one and look for delays or unwanted movement.

also have a search for death wobble.. that should help get you started

Thank you.
Dr evil you are such a #### if you have nothing constructive to say then say nothing at all get a life you ####

Drivel's got a point. Have a nose on the Range Rover section and you'll find that us P38 owners can run into directional issues with 18" wheels and with 20s some cars are almost undrivable. What a 2" lifted tratter is going to do on these is anybody's guess.

Hi trax it's defo not death wobble it just drifts from left to right badly as if your towing a caravan

Ps dr devil eat my shorts! Num nut

you're the one who's stuck massive range rover alloys on a self confessed piece of crap and poorly looked after utilitarian vehicle with a 2" lift and wondering why its driving poorly. What you've done is ruin its off road capability and any chances of road comfort whilst polishing a turd and ignoring the mechanical flaws.

So in fact its highly constructive unless you plan on using the defender for kerb crawling in the wee hours of the morning then you've essentially made a rolling shed.......but don't let me stop you from looking like a wannabe BMW X5 driver

Dogsboy am not interested in p38 but respect anyone who does I'm just trying to get some help and dr devils comment was not constructive!

Dear doctor evil I have only visited this site 2 or 3 times for help, you clearly have to much time on your hands being on all the time, may I suggest you get out a little more? Thank you very much for your comments they are all duly noted sorry you couldn't help.
May god be with you x
