I am wonderin if anyone has any helpful advice on my Disco 2001 intermittently refusing to start. Ongoing since September last year. Previous to this started perfectly. Then became a little rough till eventually it intermittently and seemingly without anything going on consistenly that would link a reason. Sometimes the weather is warm, sometimes totally freezing. Nothing consistent. Sometimes parked on the flat sometimes on a slope (not excessive).

I have replaved the glow plugs, the starting motor, the fuel pump. there are no fuek leaks that can be identified. Usually after any work it starts the first few times brilliantly then goes back to being rough, then rougher, then completely refusing to start.

The engine does turn over the majority of times. Rarely not turned over. But despite turning over it won't start.

Each time I take it to my mechanic it starts perfectly each time  !!! That makes me really peeved.

I was taking it to my completely trusted mechanic (of 13 years) in Bristol, moved to the Cotswolds and tried another mechanic and now am using a Landy specialist.

It has only once ever cut out completely when at Birdlip travelling up a gentle incline.

Never had any problems with it previously. Towed a 23ft trailer 2000 miles round France last summer without issue. It has 197000 on the clock always serviced regularly and drives beautifully once started :clap2: None of us can figure this out. It's driving me nuts!!!! Help? Anyone????
