Thank you.Here :
buying a crock of ****!!! - or if you already have!!
Coz i have posted this at least 3 times in 2 days - I have posted it here so it can be found easily... Plse can it be a sticky - so I dont loose it.;) Within 6 months - you are still covered by the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 - not fit for purpose or not of...www.landyzone.co.uk
I am so sorry for your experience, the advice given on condition and response, has been really good and honest. As an update, firstly I am touched and grateful for the support shown here, as this is never an easy lens to stare down, realising you've been a bit of an idiot. Secondly, I have contacted the dealer and the owner has responded apologising and offering a replacement, including delivery, moving over roof rack and paying me the difference in value. Knowing that I have a mechanic ready to look at it, I'm happy with that and have chosen one from the range on offer. I followed the route advised here and it had a direct and prompt positive result, so thank you again. If my mechanic sees it and decides it is a no hoper I can always then push for an immediate full refund, but it sounds to me like the dealer will do this one right. I'll let you know.
I would agree with this.I am so sorry for your experience, the advice given on condition and response, has been really good and honest.
Now I will say, read the small print on taking a replacement (plus money balance, I have no idea of the law, but I bet it has restrictions if you do).
As the dealer has backed down so quick, I would say No thanks just give me a full refund.
18K buys a hell of a landrover if you buy right, So give him the elbow and take the money, he seems on the back foot and you haven't even mentioned trading standards and where the MOT came from.
I wish you luck and hope to see you back with a happy LR smile on your face.

MOT History says it all really...
Its all fixable.....
They mention the underseal which has clearly been put there to avoid the MOT prying eyes.
From a dealer, who I have approached for a Repair or Replacement as per my Consumer Rights (it's not inside the 3 months immediate refund regulations).
The dealer will fight tooth and nail but you will win in the end. I would just write a letter and say you want refund or you will take it to the small claims court. With the photos/video and the mot history, add to that a summary from your competent mechanic the dealer doesn't have a chance.
I would argue against them repairing it as they have shown they are either incompetent and deceitful or just deceitful.
Great news you got it from a dealer for you.
Appreciate all the detail here. The mechanic told me he's expect it to cost 9-11K to fix.
Well if the dealer does indeed play the game the right way for you, please let us know who they are.As an update, firstly I am touched and grateful for the support shown here, as this is never an easy lens to stare down, realising you've been a bit of an idiot.
