Some geezer wrote a guide book in the fifties and said we was built on 7 ( just like Rome) but he missed one.

Dunt matter tho, where we live it's 5 mins out into Peak so spend most o me time in Hope Valley anyroad

Sir, I disagree, totally, 100%

first point of order - you dont know how many beans I have with my cheese and marmite on toast.

second point - how does everyone feel about stilton on toast ?

and as for sauces we havn't covered tabasco yet

For me Stilton is not a great melting cheese for toast, a nice mature cheddar or leicester works better. Stilton does make a good sauce though, lovely with a nice steak. Broccoli and Stilton soup's nice too.

Chilli sauces are my favourite, we always have a bottle of Encona in the cupboard as a standby if we haven't got something more interesting. Currently enjoying a bottle of "The chilli pepper company's Naga Mama"

Stilton and wallnuts on a rump steak, a bit extravigant for a Thursday night but it was magic, chips and salad with it. The soup was Tuesday IIRC.

A bit of stilton mixed in with mature cheddar on toast is OK, on it's own it's a bit much. I keep my stilton in the sideboard, it's getting a bit frisky since christmas, I may have to put it in the fridge to tame it, or eat it.
 
bloody ell...pass the Zantac.....love the idea...but that's why I'm fat, Oh and Hi Cinct, hows it hanging dude.....Just to be a peasant I actually think (not that often) but mature cheddar on Toast with a bit of Worcestershire sauce...beets most. simple with a clean taste. And no men eat Mar-mite....

Once you get to mushrooms and Stilton your starting to drift into Pizza type land, well then you might as well have a kebab with lots of hot chilli sauce, nice when the time is right, but not every day.
 
When I finally get round to dragging my sorry arse out of bed this morning I shall be having a slice of wholemeal toast and Marmite followed by a slice of white toast and marmalade, all washed down with a glass of fresh orange juice (no bits)
