I have a 1988 Landrover 90 petrol engine.

It starts perfectly from cold. But trying to start when hot - the engine turns over without firing. I have to leave the car for an hour and try again.

Have tried changing plugs, leads, points, condenser and coil. Dont think I am flooding it either.

Anyone had similar problems and/or suggestions what to do?

Thanks

try searching "vapour lock"

PS
before changing the HT part, did you check for spark? If there is none when hot, it's the dizzy. Turned out to get "wet" when hot, as I put something oily in there but engine oil, and some parts of it vapourized when it got warm, started to misfire and wouldnt start at all when hot. Vapour lock will only show when you kill the engine and try to start.

What did you check? Spark, fuel, compression, pants size?

Tks for the reply and thoughts.
Spark was fine. Engine runs perfectly, and pulls fine. So dont think problem with dizzy or compression. I just cant start the blessed thing when hot!

AAAaaaghhh!
