Hi Peter

When you say the relay is clicking away do you mean that it is clicking
continuously? If so it is either worn out or has a dodgy earth.

Do the spot lights work?

If you take the feed to the relay for the main beam power supply (not the
feed from the switch) and connect it to the load (the wire to the main beam
lights) using a bit of reasonably thick wire thus bypassing the relay you
can check if the circuit is ok.

If the lights come on then the relay or the switching side of the circuit is
at fault

If the lights don't come on then the problem is with the power supply to the
bulbs or the bulbs themselves

Regards

Tony
