Hey There,

Im collecting a landrover(purchase from ebay) Will try to upload pics when I get them

Looks like a series 2 from the bulkhead and bug eyed bonnet.

Ive looked at the pics and it doesnt have any plates, or V5

Whats the best way about finding all this out??

Will there be a print on the chassis.

How could I register it??

Will upload pics

there should be a vin plate inside the bonnet on the bulkhead or on the inside of the bulkhead unless removed, if not there may still be a chassis number stamped on the drivers front spring hanger

If it doesn't have either I wouldn't bother

Cheers,

Am using it as a project.

Just a thought though, is there a heritage site that would have a record of its production?

It'll have to have some kind of number on it for them to identify it, if not you'll have to go through an IVA in which case you'll need to make it conform to todays safety standards. I.e. fog lights, seat belts and at least a two speed wiper system

If it has an original numberplate somewhere, VIN plate on the bulkhead or even the chassis number on the hanger then just apply for the V5 in your name. Will cost you £25 I think for an application of "lost V5 certificate" and then job done

drivers side spring hanger, somewhere above the eye and back onto the flat, then again it could be on the passenger side top outrigger or rear drivers spring hanger too this link will give you more info http://remlr.com/forum/index.php?topic=1062.0

Take a screwdriver to it and scrape off the bulk of the crap before going hard with a wire brush in hand :p assuming its the original chassis you may get lucky!
