Land Rover Defender 300Tdi Vacuum Pump for brake servo. Which part did you buy!!!!

Hi thanks for reading this post. My original vacuum pump has stop working. I have take the hose off at the vacuum pump and there is little to no pressure or suck even revving the engine.
So as ever I googled for a replacement part/pump and on the net I saw lots of problems regarding the quality of the hardness of the pump cam follower with some damaging the cam.
Please could I ask which manufacturer did you buy and are still using now with no problems? and also out of interst did anyone fit an after mark 12v electric on and what pressure is?

I see no real advantage in changing to a 12v jobbie + be sure to buy G grade replacement unit.

I believe Unipump are the manufacturer of choice ...

Hi thank for your reply can I just ask what's a G grade replacement? I have never heard that before. I have heard of oem etc etc but not that.

Thanks for your reply I will go and check those out. Just out of interest how many miles have you done using the Unipump pump??? and have you had any problems??

Thank you........Yes I did look at JLR they have none in stock and the price is around £700 lol. So you can see why I am asking around other owners to find out which they have used as a good replacement.

Thank you for your reply, I sorry I don't have alot of faith in Britpart stuff I hear some parts are ok and some from personal experience ie (exhaust rotting with in 1 1/2 years and a rear caliper busting the seals out of mating joints of the caliper in the middle of the Alps with in a week of fitting new calipers on the rear) I just want to hear what other owners are fitting and are they still working?......again thanks for your reply.

There's a UNIPUMP on eBay now for £90.
They seem to have been the OE supplier, so a bit better than £700.
