Right..if it was me, and i have a little experience in this.

You're looking at 150 gallons of fuel..thats 750 quid
Food...10 a day minimum. 100
Overnight stays (you cant sleep in it, you need rest) average 20 a night ..200

Thats already over a grand and 10 days of your life...

I'd get the damn thing in a container to Gdansk or even Lithunia and drive it 2 days from there (Ukraine is huge, i'm hoping you're in the west..)

I can look into container price for you. Its going to work out a little more, but not much i dont think...and you're going to have MUCH less stress.

I don't average 50mph and i only go to copenhagen, oslo or once to poland..its impossible...you have to stop for fuel, food and rest and your average plummets..in a petrol series you will do 35-40mph averaged over 10 hours..and after 3 days you will be shattered..its not the same as an expedition where you tootle along, you're on motorway all the way and it really is an arse of a trip.

I dont have any landy experience of 'expedition' type trips.. but i do have quite a bit , on a yamaha XJR 1300 motorcycle, and the methodology & thought-processes are very similar i guess ...
I'd advocate paying a fair old bit of attention to what Storm is advising on here ... its going to be a big undertaking, and it'll knock the bejeesus out of you physically, even if you're very fit and financially-speaking, it'd be a 'no brainer' ...
Consider also - look at most modern cars which have an on-board comp' .. check the 'average speed' readout, and invariably it'll be somewhere around 32 - 35mph, for a vehicle that often sees high 80's Dual carriage way cruising, mixed with town work, and back roads tootling, plus commuting. You'll definately struggle to 'average' 50mph.
Sounds like Mr Storm knows his onions here .. and my experiences of 'mega run' biking would bear him out too.
Seriously consider what he's advocating there...
Dont wish to 'preach' .. but I reckon i'd give what he says some serious consideration before getting in too deep :)

Look at the date... he's probably dead by now

**** sake... ha ha .... i'm a year behind.
oh well nae harm done,
other than being a retarded ****wit ;)

Far from it - you pulled up an interesting fred I'd not seen before

Would be interesting to know if he made the trip - as his last post was 4 December 2011, at least he hasn't perished behind the wheel:)

His profile still lists a 1994 Petrol as well, so hopefully the Landy is still with us as well:D
