As the title says I've tried turning the allen key bolts that hold the front lamp guards on but they keep turning and not loosening. It must be that the nut behind is turning as well. Any suggestions on how I can loosen them ? (surelly I dont have to take the bumper off)?.................thanks

Yer needs to push something in between the guard and the outside of the wing, to stop the post between the guard and the wing from spinning. The posts can be seen below on the right hand side. Ignore the arrow, that's the annoying nut that fell oft twice which stops the headlight wobbling up/down.

Can anyone confirm that a Freelander sport comes out of the factory with the front guards fitted? If they do then the person that fitted mine must of been ****ed out of his head cause the wing has definitely been drilled in the wrong place :(

mine has as well it is about 10mm out on the wing so only the tip of the piece that goes into the bumper is sticking in I though of re drilling and the hole which I could put a bung in would be behind the wide bit at the wing end

Glad someone else has exactly the same problem. It ****es me off looking at it but I'm gonna leave it. Drilling more holes is just another rust potential.

they are not rivnuts they are a small bolt going into the back of the nut and then the front screw goes into the other end
The genuine LR guards on the wifes facelift FL are fastened on using rivnuts in the wing, with spacers between the wing and guard. They spin as well.

no just go behind the wing then into the compartment for changing the bulb it should be there.
I've tried gripping the post between the wing and guard but it keeps turning. teddywood1 do I have to take the 2 bolts off the top of the compartment to get to the nuts?
thanks for your patience everyone.
