Hi All,

just won a roof rack off ebay for my defender 90. so I need to buy a ladder.

ladders seem to be spilt between box section, and those that have a cutout for the numberplate. should I worry about slightly covering the plate, do I need to look out for different fixings (drill and bolt, clip to drain channel???)

Thoughts? experiences?

MM

mine covers the plate slightly. passed MOT's fine.

bolts through original mounts on cross member and then bolts through the roof above the gutter.

Stuck some anti-slip tape over the steps to.

can just about see it here in the pic

mine was a galvanised square section and the ladder bolts to the rear member and then to the top of the rack, otherwise you need to drill and reinforce the bodywork at the top
