Anyone experienced this? Every 2 weeks or so my L405 Sdv8 goes into restricted mode and normaly clears when you turn the ignition on and off but strangely keeps running for a few seconds when the ignition is off when in restricted mode. All other times its absolutely fine. Plugged in a cheap scanner and comes up with P2031 and P040d ?

Have looked at my 2011 TDV8 files. They are pretty much same engine I am led to believe
Cant find the P2031, but the other code suggest EGR.
Also any P20xx codes I can see relate to exhaust issue, maybe your code reader reports slightly diff or they changed some codes but as they both seem to point to exhaust related issue it may be a good place to start.
You dont by chance do lots of short runs maybe DPF is full ?

Not got a L405 but assuming a OBD2 reader works on a L405 looks like a faulty EGR Temp sensor
P2031 is an OBD-II generic code for when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that, during the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor warm up after the engine is cold started, the sensor does not register the specified temperature range during the testing timeframe.
The code P040D Exhaust Gas Recirculation Temperature Sensor A Circuit High is set by the ECM when there is a detected a high electrical value within the EGR ...
