L322 upgrades whilst the dash is out

Hello all,

I've just bought my first LR - a crash-damaged 2007 L322 Range Rover in Buckingham Blue. It's a cat N write-off, so the damage is cosmetic. Something sizeable has come through the windscreen whilst the car was moving and taken out the dashboard. My best guess is a tree branch on account of how much tree is inside the car.

So, as I need to remove this broken dash, and as I plan on keeping the car, I'm wondering if there are any upgrades worth doing whilst the dash is out? Can it be upgraded to the facelift stereo system, for instance?

Any ideas or advice welcome.

Welcome to LZ. As all the systems are interconnected, you need to be very careful about trying to update anything to do with the dash and the electronics in general.

I believe that the VIN may be held in the instrument panel memory, certainly the instrument panel is involved in a lot of intercommunication
