Been having a start issue with my 06 L322 TD6 - started fine until recently, then one day refused to start - no warning lights/error messages, just no cranking or any other noises.
Tried a few things, starting in P/N to check if gear shift lockout worked (shows correct gear on dash) took ignition switch itself out to check and replaced with another used item (no difference). Battery is good (near new), tried jumping it from another car also but no go.
Tried the next day and it fired up immediately, started/stopped several times. Went to it the day after, no start.
Same again today, no start. All fuses are good, starter motor wire is secure.
Only work done prior to this was removing the intake manifold to clean out all the EGR crap inside, and the car started fine after doing that.
I’m wondering if the starter motor solenoid has gone.
Any ideas?
