L322 l322 td6 2005... mpg issues

Best I've had was 36mpg on a long motorway run.
Worst is 14mpg when it took me 2.5 hours to do 15 miles.

had operation on 1 june then the wifes mum died in the same hospital as i went down to theatre
i start isolation today and radio ferapy' next week
but as the Guinness , im not bitter!

yes its de rated and the gearbox was designed with Wallace and grommit in mind with their love of cheese
it has no issues no problems and drives perfect,
has just clocked up 123,000miles.
it was a good even before i got hold of it ,and i am a perfectionist.
its totally rust free,
it has everything it wants lavished on it
im even in the process of upgrading the wheels again,from supercharged, to l405s, and to now new turbines and new rubber..
just a very good clean car and still loving it..
but heres the thing..im on 200 miles with a quarter of a tank to go, ( and the tank was brimmed)
clucking hell springs to mind..
what mileage are others getting?
am i asking too much,
after having new air con etc and loving the cool,should i turn off the air con and fry and bow down to greta funbags!
viscous fan is free wheelin (not locked up causing excessive drag )
zero faults on any system on inpa or icarsoft and foxwell
no tow bar ever fitted
i know @kds can achieve 400 ish miles ( thanks ken)
if a 3.6 came my way id consider it, but i would be reluctant in the same breath as going through everything again would be a pain.
thoughts answers really appreciated..
