Yep....looks like I was mis-informed or as your President would say 'mis-spoke'....

There is a rolling code between the EWS ECU and the ECM ECU......so yes, there appears to be a 'learn new code' issue....I doubt Rovacom Lite would be able to do it and you'd need something like the BBS Faultmate Extreme or something with some clout like the Land Rover T4 system to get the security system to relearn....Solus is not a LR specific system and as such may not have the right security protocols to force a re-learn of the rolling code.
The Rovacom-Lite is capable of doing everything the Faultmate will do, it is merely an older and now obsolete platform. It was with Colin's direction that I purchased the modules for use on the RCL as I had such urgent need and couldn't wait the week or two to return my RCl, have them transfer license codes to a new FaultMate and ship it back. In order to facilitate this repair and make it easier on both of us, his plan was for me to purchase these modules, install them on my admittedly nearly filled RCL, conduct the repairs and send the RCL in at my leisure.
With Land Rovers, there is little leisure!
Please do not take my earlier post as an insult as nothing of the sort was intended. This is a departure for me as I am frequently the one dispensing such info and assisting, but this truck is trying my patience and my skills. I have had great luck and positive experience working on the BMW powered L322s, but this one is taking the **** for sure!
As for the Solus, during my near five year tenure as a Snap-On franchisee, I told my customers that Snap-On is THE best for every vehicle, it is NOT the best for each individual vehicle. There is an amazing amount that CAN be done with it, but it is frustrating when one's needs exceed the capabilities of the tool-worse yet, Snap)n purchased the appropriate software from JLR, but refuses to be involved with anything security related..
