l322 gearbox rumble

Hi All
got a 03reg 4.4 l322. when i accerlerate slowly im getting a rumble at about 30mph if the rev counters at about 2000rpm. thinking a filter and fluid change might cure it. Anyone know how much fluid these gearboxes hold ?

How many miles has the car done?

The box holds about 9.5 litres, but you will only get about 6 litres out on a drain.

You need to drain it, fill it, drive it, drain it, fill it, etc, until you reduce the original oil as much as poss.

I'm going to change mine when it warms up a little. I've bought the filter, o-ring and gasket, and will be buying 20l of Esso/Mobil ATF LT71141 (about £170) so I can do 3 changes.

My car has 52k miles, so I'm doing this before it gets to the stage yours is at!

ive been browsing the web and may take the pipe of the oil cooler and let the pump take the lot out. then just put the 9.5 litres in. oils got to be cheaper than that some where. if i find it for less i will let you know

The torque convertor has quite a lot in.

You can buy the oil in 1litre too.
