Well most the parts are here for this weekends task on the old range rover!!! Just hoping once I've got it all stripped down that the damage Is only to the parts I've already seen!!

So after getting an afternoon/evening on the RRS yesterday I finally started to get things stripped off here's a few pictures of the findings just to keep you posted!!

I've had the bores cope down each cylinder and it doesn't seem to look like any valves are bent or Atleast they are all sitting flat on the valve seats! I've got 2 replacement heads that are complete, I'm going to swap over all the cams, lifters, rocker arms and put back enough parts to see if the car will run! Optimistic I know! But I've seen cars with snapped chains/belts and put a new one on to see if it runs and luckily they have!!

So I figure there's no harm in trying I'm in no rush so if the heads do need changing I've got everything I need to do it ‍♂️

So I know it's been a long time since I posted but I've finally got around to sorting the range rover out and I replaced the bent rockers snapped bolts camshafts and obviously oil pump and belts and rebuilt it all up, and it's got compression and started up and runs sweeter than it did before the tensioner failure!! So if anyone else has had this happen it's worth checking if it's only top end damage as I was lucky!!! All cleaned up now and new wheels fitted!
