Another prime example of new items failing, seems to be occurring more often than not unfortunately.....

OK thanks, my 12 v DVR turned up today so just waiting on a camera to test it.

What make were your drop links, i have just fitted two Moog ones ?

Regarding the cam cover seals, the links below are quite useful.
i also changed my vanos solenoid seals as they had cracked and were leaking which are only 2 bolts, although i removed a couple of other bits for ease of access. they are right at the front of each bank, I'll take some pics if you need them and i'll try and find my cam cover seals shopping list.

You should also get some sealant, again i didn't use the recommended loctite but wish i had

The hardest part is cleaning all the flakey paint of the inside of the cam covers before fitting the new seals as it will most likely have bubbled.

Some people have had them shot blasted and powder coated which is great if you have time but you should probably tell the powder coaters that they are magnesium.

This is my shopping list for the cam cover seals and washers and the part number for the Vanos solenoid is below.
I ordered Victor Reinz as they are OEM, Island 4x4 have them as does britcar but have a google.

The sealant is STC 50550 and i believe it is actually loctite 5900 but have a look around
