Hi all,

Been having a few problems with my starting my series 3 2.25 diesel. It just hasnt had the power in the battery to start it at all.

Stuck the meter on the battery whilst it was running and its at about 14 volts which i think is about right?

But when i leave it for a few hours it'll go down to 12.4 volts, just tried starting it when there was 13 volts in the battery and it just wouldnt go.

Charge light is on the dash board when the engine isnt running, wiring to it has all be replaced recently. Alternator was new in july.

Any thing else to check or is it a case of replacing the battery?

Thanks
Mat

As storm says, get a discharge test done on the battery (Halfords will do it for you). It may also be due to a lazy starter.
