Hi, hoping someone can help. I have a 2000 TD4 manual. Total newbie but willing to give anything a shot really.

The problem I have is when driving over about 20 miles all my dash warning lights start flashing, the speedo drops to 0 as does the rev counter, but they kind of bounce between having no power and then returning to normal lots of times, maybe 20 to 30 times (only the TC light stays on when this clears) There's a little judder from the car but then it seems to continue performing normally. I can hear a little tic like an electrical connection engaging and disengaging as the dash lights go on and off.

If I turn the ignition off and restart it all clears but then will return shortly, (within a few miles)

Basically I think I have a loose connection somewhere, does anyone know what the most likely culprit is? I'm lothe to take it to a garage for what is most likely just putting a clip back in place.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

They sound like some of the same symptoms my motor was showing when the CPS crankshaft position sensor broke.
