Hiya
Currently have our 03 plate landy discovery 2 sat not able to use.

We have 2 keys but over a period of a year both have stopped working.
Key fobs stopped working but could still use manual key. One key stopped last year and second one stopped recently. Can access inside the vehicle and can turn on ignition with one key but no engine turn over.
Spoke to an unhelpful person at landrover who said don't do the keys that age anymore can't help.
Surly there can be a way to reprogramm or set new key?
Seen that you can set a new key but engine needs to turn on and ours don't.

Any advice please?

Thanks

find the emergency key entrance code LR will supply that with proof of ownership, then read the manual to find out how to use it.
But I cannot help but feel that the fobs just need new batts and the car also, maybe.
Best of luck and welcome to the forum!

Hi, assuming the fob batteries are ok, as both keys have stopped working it sound very much like the receiver. This is under the headlinning by the rear sunroof. You can lower it enough to see. The usual problem is a poor earth. If you do have to replace it, it's just plug & play.
Do you have access to diagnostics- Nanocom etc? These can program keys.
If you put your approx location in there may be someone close that can help.

Have you tried putting the key in the ignition turning it to position two, pushing the "open" button on the plip then immediately trying to start it?

Thanks for suggestions and replies...
Jock the lock managed to help us... we have one working key again with the help of a screwdriver to create a connection on the key.
Key fob to be fixed and a new spare to be programme 😀

By the way, if you're looking to save on locksmith services or car accessories, have a look here. It could be really useful for getting discounts on your next key-related purchase

Well done, Jock the lock! Good that you managed to get a working key back.
