Hi, new to Landyzone.
Does anyone have experience of AutelAP200 for programming 2009 freelander2 keys. Seen some videos.
Does it work and does original working key stay active. Dealer wants £498.00
Ouch.
Any advise would ve helpful.

Hi,

Do you at least one working key ?

Unfortunatly for the keys, your best option is the main stealer.
Your second option is a car key specialist, which is cheaper.

Good luck.

I have the Autel dongle - think its a Maxi AP200.

I got it specifically to program some keys because the car only came with 1.

Got the Autel and a couple of fobs from AliExpress and the Autel did program them and they can be used in the car.

As stated, you need to have at least 1 working key to be able to do it. You basically start with that one and add new ones.
TBH I found the software (app on phone) a bit ropey because it didn't complete the process, gave me errors that the key wasn't recognised or summat.

Initially I just gave up and walked away.

I then thought, "I wonder"... pressed the unlock button on the new fob and the doors unlocked :)

So it did work, just made a dogs dinner of doing it.

Thanks for reply, I've watched two videos on Youtube on this. Yes it seems to work albeit not quite straight forward, my my two concerns are , does the original key still work once a new one is programmed (I have one good key, the other starts the car but the buttons don't function), my other concern is that all goes wrong and I cook the system and end up with no working keys.
Main stealer would then have a field day.

Thanks David.

I also worried about that. I'd have had to wait 6 weeks for the stealer to ship keys over from the UK (if it knackered the only working key) and if you think their prices in the UK are fairy tail numbers, you should see what they end up like over here.

Its what god gave you balls for... to make stupid bold decisions. ;)

All I can say is, that my original key still works and a new one (all functions I believe). That is just my experience though.

There are lots of people selling new keys/fobs. Lots on AliExpress that are dirt cheap, and there were some local outfits but they were more $ (although still lots lots cheaper than the stealer).

I concluded that the local ones would just be Ali ones that people are making margins on, so would be no more likely to work... just cost me more.

I asked a similar question to yours and someone on here posted a link to the ones they bought on Ali. I went with those. Hopefully you can search for the post. I've probably had the car 6 to 8 months so would have been about then.

If you're still worried, you can probably find an indie LR garage that will supply and program fobs for lot less than stealers. If they fook it up, then it'll be their responsibility to fix it.

Whether they would or not, is another matter!
