Hello, i have strange problem. Sometimes my key fob working nice, from a long distance (10m). But sometimes i should press lock/unlock keys near front window, where alarm receiver located. I noticed that range becomes short where is parked a lot of cars. At parkings for example. Today i checked my receiver, it is 315MHz. Here i can find only 433MHz spare receivers. Maybe somebody have similar experience?

The frequency used in the fob transmitter and receiver is dependent on the territory the car was first sold in.

Distance will change a bit depending on the angle of the remote and if there's any other radio signals about on a close frequency. It should be ok for 50 meters if the battery is ok.

It becomes funny- i know parkings where i will have problem with locking and unlocking car :) But near my garage it works as should, from 10 meters..

Strange car. 2006 first registration and pre facelift, sold in Germany with 315MHz :)
Today i will replace battery in fob one more time. If it will not help- then probably receiver is bad.

It’s more likely that the 315MHz system is interrupted by other signals which is why the range is variable.

There’s a reason why Europe uses 433MHz not 315!

Remote key fob back: Canada:)
x-files. Canada version sold in Germany. (headlight beam- normal euro)
As i told before, another strange thing that 2006 and still pre facelift.

What year does the vin plate say it is? That's the important bit. If it's been imported then the registration year may not be the build year. The vin number will confirm the build year.

Over here there are lots of up to YA99999 cars that are all legally registered as 2002 cars. Haven't a clue why, but most '2002' cars have YA VINs so were manufactured pre 2000 (and have the yellow indicators and K & L Series engines) and first registered in 2002 - haven't a clue where they all sat for 2 years. They are not 2nd hand imports (although they may have sat somewhere offshore for 2 years), their history shows them being first registered in (mid) 2002 with no mileage on them. It has baffled me for many years.

If you could get a full vin oft one of them i can find out where it's original sale would have been, via me local dealer.
