youll probably find it needs re syncing with the immobiliser thats all, I think you switch the key to position 1 in the ignition switch then press and hold the central locking button on the key or something...check yer book or wait an expert will be along and tell ya whats what, I've got the freelander and it did that to me on 1 key only. Reset it and its fine now... let us knows how it goes... regards cartman690...

If it does not work with EKA code. Then I belive the only option is a dealer or someone with testbook or Rovacom.

Please give more info,model year,petrol/diesel etc.What does the message display read when you try to start the car ? Where is it parked?Has it been parked there before ?

Check that dashboard displays "check engine" light. If not you will never staet it and I am afraid new becm is the only answer... I know I have just been there myself

I presume your car is a 95-99my,if it is then you may have just bought a new Becm for nothing.If the check engine lamp does not come on when you key on then the Gems engine ecu is not recognising the the pulsed square wave signal from the Becm.It is a simple process with Testbook to get the Gems ecu to relearn it.If it then loses it again you have a cabling issue between the two.It is nothing to do with scrambled bar codes from the keyfob as some people suggest.bucyruseire said:

My problem we diagnosed to the after market immobiliser fitted when the "TRACKER" was installed back in 1996. The immobiliser failed internally causing the becm to give up. Trust me we tried everything to get round buying a becm but having made the decision all is all well. Just the blend motors to sort out now....Hey ho it never ends!!!!! And my latest new Range Rover is number 12 am I mad Or What!!!!
