key fob battery change/re sync?

hi all,can anyone tell me how to re sync the remote key fob on my 2000 1.8 freelander?ive tried changing the battery but its still not working and i wondered if there was a re sync program??cheers

Hi. See if this helps? (From the handbook):

Remote control battey replacement:

....Prise remote open.
....Take battery out.
....Press and hold each button in turn for at least 5 seconds.
....Fit new battery ensuring + side faces upwards.
....Re-assemble.
....Synchronise.
....The remote control is now ready to use.



Synchronising the remote control:

If the remote control fails to lock or unlock the car, this may be because the coded signal transmitted by the remote control, and the signal expected by the alarm control unit are no loner synchronised.

To synchronise the remote control and the alarm control unit, operate either button of the remote control at least 5 times in quick succession (in close proximity to the vehicle).

I was so close to just getting new keys and ECU. This works. Its amazing. =]
