Hi folks, probably been asked many a time but couldn't find it in the search (probably me been bone). I have one key for the ignition and one key for the door lock, didn't realize as I've just been using the fob. Went to lock the door with the key so I could leave the roof open.

Is it possible to get the door lock rebuild or buy one that is the correct one for the key I have?? What's the going rate??

I have the same problem and haven't yet fixed it, but I know what I am going to do.
I'm going to take the door lock barrel out and modify it by if necessary removing or repositioning wafers, then filing the rest down so that the key can be used.
I take it you have tried both keys?
My other D1 has two as I changed the barrel to suit after a key broke in it, so I now have two keys.

Thanks for replying yeah I have tried all three keys I have two are for the ignition and one is for the door, going to contact a local vehicle locksmith to see if it is possible to have the barrel rebuilt to the correct setting as the ignition

It is possible to do it your self, I have done it with my D1. You will need to strip the barrel down to its componant parts i.e. the wafers. I had a few spare barrels so I nicked the wafers from those too so that I could get a proper match to the key, You just need a little patience to select the right ones & get them to line up with the key when you put it in the slot, fiddley but quite easy to do.

Agree totally, and much cheaper than a locksmith!
and don't fiorget you don't have to have the full complement of wafers, my ignition has two missing, and it is still fine!
