Possibly as its just an electric motor in most cases I think they're pull fans anyway so behind the rad

It depends entirely 
on the fan design. Whether yu push or pull doesn't matter. Theoretically pulling air through us better, but lots of manufactures put fans in front of the rad. It is more important to fit the biggest fan possible.

Yes, it's the actual design - like ships propellers. Reversing the wiring is irrelevant.

I may have misunderstood your post but you can't pull hot air from the engine bay through the rad'.
You must drive air from front to back (of the vehicle) regardless of whether the fans push or pull they must move air in the right direction, or you could end up fighting the natural air flow caused by the vehicle moving forward and end up with little or no effective flow and an overheated engine.

Exactly. the air has to go from in front of the rad towards the engine.
