Good find, strange someone has gone to all that effort and then its been left
TD gets its share of bad press but i had a f reg 90 a few years ago and it was a good reliable engine and not too bad for power just regular service and maintenance

The first ones were a disaster area, the later ones with the coated pistons are slightly better.
They need careful looking after and maintenance, especially lube and cooling systems, and dont expect too much in the way of performance. High mileage and not looked after spells danger.
They were often fitted to series, because they were cheap, and a bit more power than original engines.

Having said all that, mine has been quite good, but it is ow mileage, and maintained by an obsessive.

Thanks for the info can u tell me how I can identify if it's an early 2.5 td or later engine

Look for the engine number. These links should reveal early or late type. But of course, you dont know if it has been rebuilt. unless it has a Turner number or similar.

If you post some good, clear pics of the engine, I can probably give you a rough idea of how well it has been maintained.
Also, examine the condition of the engine oil, and coolant. Oil like tar, and neat water for coolant, are not good signs.
Nor are perished rubber components, like hoses and fan belts.
