hi,your diesel p38 will never be a flying machine,you need a psi powerbox as stated earlier.you can find these on ebay often enough.your mileage should be about 25/28 round town and 20 on a fast run.a superchip is not like a powerbox it is a chip which is either tuned via a special company via their computer gizmo's or a chip which is replaced in your ecu by taking out the old chip and soldering in the new chipped one.this only works with the chip on the bosch ecu.

probably best to get on the motorway and set the cruise, reset the trip computer and see what the mpg goes down to, you will get alarmingly high mpg at first but let it settle and it should go to the 28-30 range!

Fill the tank to the brim, re-set the computer at the same time, after 20 or so miles it should show 24 to 26 mpg uless you have a lead foot. It will use more in cold icy conditions or heavy traffic, mine averages 25mpg brim to brim here in France and up to 30mpg on the Autoroute:D

no that is not right,with standard 16inch wheels on my 2.5dse,with chip,i was getting 24 and bit around milton keynes,on a run to newark i got over 29mpg,but now slighty less now on bigger wider tyres.but still over 22 local.
