Hi everybody.
I have just brought my first Freelander . It is a 1999 3 Door 1.8.

wife wanted one ( we have had fronteras ) so managed to find one local. it as has a recent head Gasket and cam belt change so hoping all will be well.

i dont know if these are faults , hopefully somebody ca help me.
When i use the alarm fob to open the door/turn alarm off .. there is a bazzing noise from insid the cabin area .. is this normal ? is it part of the Alarm. Soon as i turn on the ignation the noise stops. I have heard that it maybe a low battery on the key fob ????

Blower resistor has failed. It's a common and easy fix.
Rear window has been covered many times but it's normaly one of the micro switches at fault.
Welcome ;) is your car the flip colour paint? If so it's my favourite colour!!

Once you changed the battery you will have to press the one if the buttons repeatedly. Then the alarm receiver will recognise it again.

heater is your resistor gone look on eBay easy to replace. and just in case the rear window you can wind it down and stop at any time but you can not do that while winding it up it just goes down again, hope this helps and by the way Welcome

Thank you guys

Check for burnt out heater resisters - covered on ere.
Check roof is fitted ok. Position sensor can fail telling the roof is oft so the tailgate window drops. Will also drop after disconnecting the battery so check battery connections are tight. Loads on ere about it.

oops, din't see page 2.

Well, changed the batteries in both fobs ,... for a grand total of £0.69p .. Now the bleeping has stopped.

next job to sort the heating out. I will take the part out and check it before ordering the repair kit
