Hello again, I have finally found one!
After Being told lies and trauling up and down the country to view pieces of poo i have bought one that im pleased with.
Year 2000, 70k miles, fsh, Tv/Sat nav, Dvd, etc...

I have a few things im unsure about so i was hoping for some guidance from you guys who have most likely seen it before being owners.

I have managed to get the dvd player in the back to work fine as its dvd loader is in its side (its like an independant unit) and i managed to get it playing through all the speakers at one point but i cant manage to get it to do it again, i dont know how its been wired and cant find a setting on the Head unit that is like (auxilary) it just has (CHANGER, TUNER, MD) im assuming MD is minidisk.

And also on the Built in dash screen, when i click TV/VIDEO in the menu the screen just goes blank, asif there is no signal? does anybody know how to tune the tv? and there is a dvd loader in the boot i assume is for the dash screen but i cant decide whether it looks standard or not, its black and is on the right hand side of the boot. under the Sat nav disk loader.

If anybody knows how to work these things i would be hugely gratefull to hear back...

Thanks alot... Phil..:)

Hi Phil, best thing to do is post a pic of the setup in the boot and of the head unit. Congratulations on your purchase by the way, a pic of that would be good too

the screen may go blank if its hooked up to handbrake, safety feature so you dont watch tv whilst drving and crash while watching corrie!

try the tv with handbrake on!

Hey guys, sorry to have taken an age, its my loss in the end anyway i still cant work the stuff out!

Anyway i will shot some pics up of the stuff inside to see if it gives you any clues... and a couple of the car as requested...

The Rear screen is aftermarket by the looks of things? i had this playing the sound out of all speakers at one point but now it doesnt it just plays from the unit itself (sounds pants).

The alpine CD Changer looks standard and looks to match the alpine headunit, i have gathered the head unit is standard but find it hard to believe?

This Dvd unit is in the rear right hand side of the boot, I can only gather that this is for the Dash screen? It wont eject however it just freezes and says eject or something, i will look at getting this rectified.

The Navigation loader appears to work fine, this has a navigation CD and a key type thing that clips onto the front.

The JL audio amplifier has got to be Aftermarket surely! It looks out of place, fancy putting it in the way of the bulb replacement hatch!? i assume it will just pull out! it better!! haha.

By the way i have tried searching for an "auxilary" setting in the headunit but when pressing source i can only get "Minidisk, Changer, Tuner"
So how the hell did i get it out of all speakers before!! i have got to assume the rear telly is linked to the head unit or amp to do this?

Anyhow any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, im sick to death of it all now... haha thanks again.

i know you have been messing with the head unit functions but have you had a mess with the av setiings etc on the flip screen? it might also have a fm transmitter built in? worth a try... btw car looks tidy ;)

Thanks for the reply, I cannot find much in the settings of the rear Lcd screen, There are 3 modes, there is AV, which just gives me a blue screen saying no signal,
IMG_5881.jpg

And there is a DVD mode which is where i got all the speakers going before
IMG_5880.jpg

And there is a TV mode in which i have auto tuned but the signal is very poor so you cant realy get a picture as such.

As for a transmitter i cannot seem to find anything suggesting so, i will have another look however...

Thanks alot..

Phil...

Today i have managed to contact a previous owner and have established some information!
apparently the roof mounted screen is a replacement for a previous one that wasnt a dvd combi so the black dvd unit in boot was for that and to tune the telly in back i will need to fit an ariel. As for playing from all speakers she couldnt help,

Interesting to know anyway, at least that explains why there is so many remotes and not enough items, a few of them can be disposed of.

dispose via ebay!

the screen in the pic has the speaker with a cross could this be muted?

also can we assume the remotes used are correct and charged??

i know its obvious stuff but sometimes things get overlooked in frustrating circumstances!!

as none of the equipment is standard it's going to be impossible to diagnose via the forum, unless you get lucky and someone has one of the items fitted to their own vehicle. It may be quicker and probably safer to have an ICE expert take a look, it will incur a cost of course but at least you will find out what each item does, how it works and what items you dont need.

Thanks for the suggestions, Yeah i have renewed the batteries and all are working well, i muted it myself at that time while it was cracking with bad signal.

My plan was to see an ice specialist but when i went over they were shut so i will keep trying, i deffinatly think its the best bet though.

Thanks alot... Phil..
