Just bought a 97 4.6L to break for the tailgates and bits of interior trim, (to replace those damaged when I dropped my 95 2.5dt off axle stands after doing the pins in the clutch posted a few months ago). Cheapest postage to jersey has been about £200 for the tailgates and no shipper jumping at the chance to move secondhand item with glass in. My father was going to bring some over but just changed his freelander for a tiny eastern run around so that option has closed!
So the above came up as a non-runner and was not much more expensive than the tailgates and some of the postage to Jersey. But tonight I got it going but EAS not working and no headlining but the body work is immaculate. Do I take the bits I need, lights, tyres and some interior trim or try and get it sorted, then may be sell on to pay for the parts I need?
It has done 100K miles. Any thoughts or encouragement to not feel bad and go for it. Do not have space to have it hanging around whilst I sell of additional bits.
I spend about £100 month on fuel running around the island in the DT and think that is more than enough. Also took the car to Norway last year and might well do the same this summer.
I did consider changing the engine/transmission but the answer on that seems to be no.
Hope you don't mind me asking such a 'soft' question.
