Just a quick question about tyres...

Hi all I'm just looking for some clarification from someone who knows more than me, after reading about a million threads on disco 2 tyre sizes can anyone tell me if I'm right in thinking the biggest tyres I can fit to my standard disco2 td5 (without fookin anything else or chopping owt out) are 245/75R16? I'm looking at some BFGoodrich all terrain T/A KO 245/75R16 120 S's. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks marmaduke, I'm not sure where to find stickys but I think I've read on other posts that it isn't working although I think that I've read through it on a thread it had been cut and pasted onto. Really I'm just looking for someone to tell me I have understood what I've read correctly or point out what I got wrong and why, I'm still very much at the beginning of my disco learning curve. BB

As others have said. Read the sticky.

But bear in mind biggest tyre depends on tyre type, wheel width and offset and importantly intended use. The sticky probably doesn't cover all of these points.

i.e. if you plan to only drive on the road, then that is a heap of difference to getting it cross axled off road with maximum suspension deflection and compression.

Off road, tyres that are fine on the road might well rub.

Also do you plan or want to do anything to the vehicle? As I'm sure a simple bit of trimming to the bumper corner on the front bumper or similar will allow much bigger wheels to be fitted.
