Got a 2002 freelander with fuel leak at a unit located behind the alternator, any ideas? is this the fuel pressure regulator? From what I can see the alternator has to come out to access this unit. Spare parts are a problem here in Mexico and any help if this is just a seal problem that I may be able to get a local service station to repair?

Maybe telling us what engine it is might help.

What engine is it? Take a pic if possible. There's not many places for a fuel leak if it's a 1.8k, but seeing as you've said it's located behind the alternator i doubt it's a K series.

The fuel pressure regulator has two O ring seals at its iinterface with the high pressure pump. RAVe says you only need to remove the starter motor to get to the screws hoding it. I would definitely try replacing these before you attack the HP pump and a local mechanic might have the appropriate sizes in his selection pack.
