Considering buying a Range Rover p38 that is imported from Japan. They use Kim’s on their speedo, can the speedo be changed for an English speedo in mph or is it to expensive to do.

If you fit a second hand instrument cluster, make sure the mileage is lower than the KM equivalent or the recorded mileage will update to the higher figure. Changes needed in the BECM too. Easy enough to convert in your head to MPH, 50kmh = 30mph etc or use an app on our phone such as Digihud to show mph.

+1.

Be aware the number and units are stored separately so 50k kilometres will becone 50k miles unless you switch over the units first. Pretty sure someone on here had the problem and fixed it somehow.

Don't think there's a Miles-Km setting in BECM. You might need the "Market" setting changed to UK ?

If the BECM is Japanese, a simple test would be to change that to UK, and see what the existing instruments do ? all depends how fussy you are in case it changes the Odometer ?
