Hi All.

I have recently been looking at importing a disco to Tanzania (where I am currently) and all the cars/4x4's come in from Japan. Great 4x4 trails here !!

What I trying to find out is are there any problems that anyone knows about with Japanese landy's or common problems with the below models ? They seem dirt cheap from there ...

I am looking at one of two, both are '96 v8 petrols with about 60k miles on the clock.

Any info woulld be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
Stuart

unless you can get underneath them and have a good look around, you take a chance.floor panels and sills are what to look out for the sound profing on the floors acts like a spounge keeping any moisture trapped. sills under the plastic trims under the doors are another area for rust. last time i went down the local independent landy garage they had a v8 on a 97 plate and the whole back floor was rotted out alltho the outside of the disco looked excellent.
not trying to put you off, you cant go far wrong with a disco.
