Just read your project from start to finish, wow! You've done a really good job and your defender looks brilliant.
I am impressed with your dedication! It is still a work in progress, there will probably be some updates soon, inc painting over some new rust!

Enamel satin black paint from eBay and etch primer underneath.
It didn't finish amazingly, but has been pretty hard wearing.
