Its actually a 1990.
The guy has had it as a weekend project for years, and now his missus is sick of it and they bought a motorhome, so she wants to toodle round country instead of him playing with the car.
Its got 87k on the clock,full interior dash upgrade and you can see the condition. It was full bodied stripped and resprayed last year, it was originally gold, and the gearbox was removed, stripped and overhauled 8 months ago. Hes done 70 miles since the box was done.
Still got a few small problems to sort out, mainlt through lack of use. Drivers window is, er stuck. Handbrake sticks on when releasing. Needs 2 door pins in drivers door, and a couple of silly bits of trim he couldnt or hasnt got round to getting yet.
£1550 i paid for it, due to its condition and history. Gotta be worth it all day long.

My hand brake does that, the owner before must have pulled himself in the car with it. (slight bend in shaft) Got yourself a bargain if you ask me. Could be worth doing an oil change and the timimg belt aswell if it hasn't been used much.

Thats a pretty good price for the vehicle, I have attached a picture of mine, just had me cam belt done and various bushes, etc.
Mine still has a few probs,nothing too big, just minor things I want to do, and now I have a couple of weeks off I am gonna work on it a little. Started the old wax oil today, power washed, then laid under it with a paint brush, brushing wax oil on the little rusty bits and every where else I could, until I ran out. But these vehicles are just amazing, I had one week of no sleep worrying if I had done the right thing or not, but I paid the landy specialist to carry out a full inspection of it, and he said apart from the normal brake pads getting low its in very good condition. The thing that I love is a full service kit, shocks front and back, oil, air, fuel filters 50 quid.
But sounds like you have got a bargin, and I hope it works out well for you.

Im pretty pleased with it.
Started looking round for a few things im after, side steps deffo ,possibly an A bar but the sponge ones.
And the front, i really dont know what to do, if i should invest in a full conversion on the headlights, or try and find a grill with the 2 built in for the 200's.
Someone on here has got one, a pic of their car as their avatar shows the grill.
Quite like that, its different.

Yeah I too want side steps found some on a site for 165quid for a pair rubber topped, a nice A bar would also be nice. The tyres on my landy are 235/70 R16, Standard according to the hand book, but then again I am no expert on the machine. See you have the same problem as me, the land rover bug, and its a hard b'stard to shake..... 
once under your skin you seem to spend alot of time reading and learning as much as you can about the thing, never done it with any other vehicle I have owned before maybe read the handbook quick, but this thing I cant leave alone, have to be waxing it or doing something to it, makes the wife quite angry, she says dont you want a blanket for the bloody land rover so you can tuck it in.....

Looks a nice one, good price to. im with paulpdh on the wheel upgrades i also have the steel modular's with 235/70 r16 tyres, i think they make the whole disco look a bit more chunky. side runners are a good idea they look good and stop muppets banging in to your pride and joy with there car doors in the car park, saying that if your out to do some serious off roading there is a chance they may get ripped off, ive been told this many times going round the off road route at the billing show but so far there still intact.

i think the next upgrade for me is the sarfari snorkal, i had a close call this year mud and s**t in the air box. 145 quids the cheapest ive seen so far, any one seen them cheaper !!.

Them pics are of your machine I assume, wow, looks really good. I love the pic of the beast in the water. I drove through a flooded road the other night in the dark, it scared the shi* outa me, there was a wave of water over the screen and for a split second I panicked, never been though water with it before. Mind you I did hit the flood around 55mph (dumb ass), but I drive a van at work, we also have a mondeo, wiper controls all different of couse, and for a few seconds when I hit the flood, I forgot which way the wipers came on in my panic, so I was driving and couldnt see F all, that was a good lesson to learn.
Have any of you guys wax oiled your landy's?? If so did you squirt any into the main cross members??

hitting water at that speed, i bet it did make you nip up abit.
wax oiling's one of those jobs ive gota get round to doing, id say thats a good idea to get into all the cross member sections as long as there not packed with mud. a damb good preasure wash underneath first.

Pride and joy, yeah I can side with that, how long did you spend cleaning after that drive muddee on ya pic??
The driveway we have is on a slope, so I parked the landy half way down, and pressure washed all underneath, followed by a bucket and sponge and fingers into the wheel arches, the arches were caked in it, must have been months of mud under there. Anyway Gunked the engine bay, followed by a pressure wash, popped the headlights, and spayed the whole thing with wax oil, taken me around five hours, not having a ramp makes it harder for sure. But its done now and protected for a while.

That was offroading at billing this year, we drove home 140 miles so it got bake'd on well. it useally takes me about 2 hours to get it clean. well worth it.
we had to limp home a bit with a few bent bits of plastic and a snapped exhaust. but hey its all part of the fun, right.
