Hello everyone
Well this is range rover number 6, I know I shouldn't have but couldn't help buying another one ( it was so cheap :) ).
Anyway it's got a few issues or character as I tell myself, I've had it a week and fixed the airbags, sorted the windows, damned things wouldn't set, now on to the abs/tc, and dodgy temp gauge, just pulled the dash out and surprise surprise it's an ex police car as the big sticker saying police on the back gives it away,
So now it's out with the spanners and the diagnostics again, I can see some headaches coming with this one

Welcome to the land of Loonyrovers. I'm surprised, that you are surprised, that a White and Blue Range Rover with red stripes and a blue flashing light on the roof is ex police  Surely the likely hood is that an ex police vehicle will have an excellent service record o_O. Once you get the horns to stop playing do dah do dah you should have a fine purchase :p. Good luck with the refurbishment:D

Ah the rangey tricked me, it was in plain clothes :)

Hi and welcome to LZ :)

Number 6! Are you fixing them up or killing them off? :p

I and a friend have both bought ex police cars in past. They had their niggles at first but both turned out to be very reliable vehicles with no major faults and lasted many years. I still have mine, it's not running anymore but did it's bit

Police spec? Oh my, there is BECM setting in there for "Police".
Nanocom warn you NOT to set it unless your is truly a police vehicle.
Clearly it allows it to go faster, corner more sharply and drink extra fuel at public expense. ;)

Plenty of people doing without being police, in their benefits paid for uninsured, untaxed, boy racer mobiles. Problem is they then are taken to court at public expense and (not very often) locked up, at public expense ;)
Does nanocom have a setting for that? :)

You also wish for it to be illegal to be an idiot, but that's not gonna happen either ...:D;)

?
I must be getting old. I don't remember saying , "I wish being an idiot to be made illegal".
Also I'm sure that whilst being uninsured/untaxed is 'illegal', I never mentioned that in my post.

I is teasing ... many ex-Police I speak to say they wish more could be reminded that being stupid is lawful even if the results are not ...

You really had me confused. Next time could you maybe make it clearer you are generalising. Save me wracking my brain, for where I had said it. I'm getting old you know and not remembering things can be worrying ;)
Personally, I have no problems with idiocy, I've done my fair share of idiotic things.

Sorry, as I too am old, but my little brain flits about like a butterfly on speed .... pulling ideas and quips from here and there ...

To be fair I'm best ignored and just a nod and tut will suffice ....

Well after 2 years of trouble free motoring I get a flat battery, put a new one on and get the keycode lockout, enter the

I think you've got a point about me killing them but I've had 2 years without a single problem ( until now), the becm has decided to go loopy and lock me out, ah well saves on fuel until I get it fixed

It's got a button for it - OFF. :D

@Frustrated again I'm only playing bud, I've already killed 2 brand new defenders. Worked them to death too. Well the b*gge*s that stole the last one killed it
Think 2yrs no problems LR give you a medal, invite you for coffee & scones?
DO NOT get out of the vehicle without your key, these things have a mind of their own! I've even scalded the dog for locking me out, to find it was the RR not him.
