Last Friday on my way home from work, I spotted a Tonga Green FL2 with a "FOR SALE" sign in the window.
On Monday I took a better look while driving past, and noticed it has twin exhaust pipes, so it's an i6. It's got a cream leather interior (yuk) and looks to be in reasonable condition with a quick glance.
It's up for £2,500 which isn't expensive for an i6, although I've no idea of mileage yet (I've not take note of the reg to check) but it's on a 56, so 2 years older than my TD4 SE.

No do I buy it as a replacement to my TD4 with its annoying issues, or do I buy it as a temporary replacement while I sort out my TD4?

I'm not sure I would enjoy the MPG of the i6 on a permanent basis, but I might tolerate it for a short time while mine is being sorted.

What would you do?

Seems very cheap......has it been to the moon and back ?

Just checked the MOT database.
Last May (22) it passed the MOT with 124,546 on the clock, so less than my TD4.
It's had some rear subframe work, as it fail the May 21 MOT on rear subframe rot, but this is very common, mine needs rust treatment too.
The underside looks like it's been treated with wax, and the subframe looks like a new one.
I didn't take note of the VIN, so I can't so a build sheet check for options, but it's an HSE and the interior looks surprisingly good, no worse than mine, just a colour I don't like.

I'm thinking it might be worth me buying and trying for a couple of months while I sort mine out, then decide which one to sell.

I'll need to speak to the boss first though.

Just do it !! Then when you have overcome the bugs and problems I can buy one !!

It won't hang around at that price.

He's had it outside his house since Christmas.

I've looked at it, started it from cold, and driven it.

It's fast and the engine and gearbox are smooth.
The suspension on the other hand is shot compared to mine. It also smells of damp with a bit of dog thrown in, but I think it'll clean up. The headlining is drooping in a couple of places, but that's fixable.

Congrats. Look forward to hearing about the fuel consumption !
Looks like a good set up though as long as it is not cost prohibitive.

I've just looked at the price of the RFL. £630 PA!!
I'm not sure how long I'll keep it, it depends on how much I like it I guess.

You boys with NEW cars, x plate is still £295 for a V6 !!

Keeping an eye on the V6 HSE G4 on ebay Sold for 5k last year.

Seems like a bargain. i6 is pretty rare. Best o'luck.
Got to agree that cream leather interior is yuk. Looks great when new but a pig to keep clean.

I'm going to give it a full detail, inside and out. It'll also give me a chance to find all the paint blemishes that need treating, and any interior items in need of replacement.

I'm not sure about the long term plans for it, but if I like it, and I can make the numbers work, I might keep it and sell my TD4 SE instead.
