Hi everyone,

Just entering my fifth week of Land Rover ownership.

So far, I have picked up a 100" hybrid after many hours even years of reading and research. It was one of those fate moments ... having just decided to delete my ebay search for a hybrid ... just one more run ... and there it was.

Tax exempt, range rover based, 200tdi and defender truck body. Even better it had a trailer as well.

The first night of ownership saw the snow ... what timing!

After many ebay auctions I am collecting a mass of bits to fit and upgrade, larger wheels (265/75/16) were top on the list even though the running gear is disco geared.

When a cars as old as this ... pre 72 i believe ... the road tax is a whopping £0 per year.

Didn't stop the lady in the post office asking if I wanted 6 or 12 months !

Oh dear, I think you need to have a look at the rules for tax exempt.
Who ever built it has broken a few.

If you continue to run this tax exempt then you not the builder of the Landy are breaking the law.

Enjoy it whilst you can, but dont brag about it on here, it really wont do you any favours.

You say that like we don't know!!

The crucual part is that the vehicle you have is NOT as old as this!! Its a ringer, that is illegal.

Check all the replies so far, what you are doing is breaking the law and avoiding TAX. When revenue and customs catch you they will sieze the vehicle and proscecute you for fraud.

Your choice, your move!!

Hate seeing someone get scammed even if they should have done the research.

It's either an illegal project or worst case a series has been scraped or sold with no id and then it's identity has been transferred onto a pipe of stolen Landy parts
