Permit Scheme
Please read the following notes carefully and complete the attached application. There is no for the permit.
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]The Tennyson Trail is a Byway Open to All Traffic which is an unsurfaced track maintained to the standard of a bridleway and has some steep gradients. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a suitable vehicle for this kind of surface.
The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) applying to the Trail between Nodgham Lane, Carisbrooke and the Military Road, Freshwater Bay prohibits access by all public motor vehicle traffic.
Persons in one of the following categories may apply for a permit to allow them to take a nominated vehicle along the Trail during the period 1 April until 30 September inclusive. Permit holders are required to sign an undertaking that they will drive with due care and will not at any time exceed 10mph. Permits are valid for one season.

[/FONT] Community vehicles
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]The permit scheme is for the purpose of assisting those persons who would not otherwise be able to enjoy the Trail due to limited mobility. Permits will be restricted to community vehicles used for this purpose.
In the case of Blue Badge holders, the applicant (badge holder) must be present in the vehicle when using the Trail. The permit is not transferable to any other person.
In the case of community vehicles, the applicant should be the keeper of the vehicle and the names of regular drivers be given.

bloody hell didnt know that idiots who spoil he fun and now ur not being illegal lol maybe a bit rude lol

I managed to drive the Tennyson trail about 3 days before they applied the TRO.

I spoke to the rights of way officer and GLASS rep to try and get permission to drive it 2 years ago but they refused to grant me a permit.:(

I can't remember which one of em it was but they took 3 weeks to get back to me with the answer.
