You’re probably a decent bloke, when you’re not on the blob.

I doubt the ID is original in any way what so ever but hey people post up pictures of their land rovers all the timeDoesn't look like a series build head and doesn't look like a real split screen
sorry to barge in on someones thread, but are you saying that to retain identity you need to total 8 or more points?Do not think it is coil spring [ no radius arms ] just a later axle modified to fit. If chassis is a series then a series it is.
It is all a case of how many points on the government system for modified vehicles.
8 or more to retain original identity. 5 For chassis original or new the same. 2 for suspension front and back. 2 for axles [both original] 2 for transmission [original] 2 For steering original. [Power assist ram will not count as is an addition] 1 for original type engine.
So it is very likely truck still counts as a series. [ the number plate a 1971 J Also says so.
Well, by the sounds of it your vehicle is original, with replacement parts.sorry to barge in on someones thread, but are you saying that to retain identity you need to total 8 or more points?
So, using the points above, my s3 with a direct like for like galvanised chassis (5), original suspension ie leafsprings (2), original axels (2), original transmission (2) and original engine (1) has 12 points?
So im ok to fit disc brakes and power steering and retain my numberplate and road fund tax exemption?
TIA

Just buy a defender and sell the series to some one who will keep it original
Nah just wack the series numberplate on it like all the other muppetsWhy the fuck would anyone do that, then they would need to pay tax
Not you though, your not brave enough to show us your matchbox setI doubt the ID is original in any way what so ever but hey people post up pictures of their land rovers all the time
Completely understand what you mean, just wondering about future works.Just buy a defender and sell the series to some one who will keep it original

Probably shouldn't have it's current identity then.Completely understand what you mean, just wondering about future works.
But.
It's a restomod.
If the chassis, bulkhead, side frames, wiring loom, headlining, doors, lights, paint, engine components, cooling system and seats were still the original ones that it left the factory with, then yes, why not keep everything original, but they are not!
Nah just wack the series numberplate on it like all the other muppets
You snuck in a fish, is that like mentioning boats
