IS the first pic (with gear stick) showing holes in the boot floor? If so that is another common failure. New boot floors are available and can be puddle welded in. PITA to get out with all the spot welds unfortunately. That will expose the rear crossmember which might be another pain point.

Replacement panels from YRM - Good quality and good prices - but nothing is cheap. Those pics show a Disco in reasonable condition - most a re a lot worse than that.

If he can weld, then it's all do-able.

Mine is just as bad , or worse, and im doing mine. And I'm a complete novice. !!!

Youll have to make a list of what's required and price it up.

New panels can be got from YRM or Easy-on, or fabricate your own.

Have a look on my 'big strip down and weld ' thread.

I agree. I wasn't trying to get you down, just point out that your D1 has the same fixable problems as most others and that all the bits you need are available off the shelf.

The 1st pic with gear atick is the tunnel which is meant to have a goam base for sound deadening.and a big hole to fit them thru so thats ok the others are easy fixes and the pleasure of doing it and another disco rebuilt rather than broke is a good thing
